In the August Skins competition, the following golfers netted Eagles:  Pat Johnson, Julie Paule, Jane Quast, and Pat Senft Wessel.  Julie Baker and Brenda Lammers netted Birdies.

 

The Breast Cancer Awareness Tournament and Luncheon was a huge success.  The event raised $15,000 for the Karen Weidinger Foundation, whose mission is to empower the St. Charles community with support for those suffering from breast cancer.  Co-chairs Sharon Gietl and Jane Quast along with the committee did a marvelous job of organizing this event!  See more details below.

 

The 2-day Ringer Tournament was held in August.  Thanks to the Golf Committee for their generous support by contributing prize money for this event.  The winners were:  Overall winner - Janet Tracy; Championship Flight - 1st Connie Cissell, 2nd Julie Baker, low putts Gail Walters; A Flight - 1st Julie Paule, 2nd Sharon Linneman, low putts Patty Rothermich; B Flight - 1st Linda O’Donnell, 2nd Aryn Koepke, low putts Joyce Berkowitz; C Flight - 1st Linda Boone, 2nd Helen Eichorn, low putts Nancy Jeffrey. 

 

Several League members played in the Member-Member Memorial.  Connie Cissell and Brenda  Lammers placed 1st in the Ladies Flight.  Aryn Koepke/Lindy Lamper and Angel Likens/Kelly Osborne finished in the money in 3rd and 4th place, respectively.  Sharon Linneman/Dinah Weston won 2 skins, and Connie Cissell/Brenda Lammers, Penny Hays/Sandy Honerkamp, Kendra Nowak/Dani Pals, and Amy Palmatier/Rosie Cantrell won 1 skin.  Congratulations!

 

The Divorce Open saw a lot of League members participate on a hot and steamy day.  Flight winners were as follows:  Championship Flight - Bridget/Steve Kaprielian placed 1st; Patty Rothermich/Jeff Nagel, and Sandy/Mark Pearlstone tied for 3rd; A Flight - Sandy/Alan Honerkamp placed 3rd; and C Flight - Debbie Nack/Mike Warden and Julee/Jack Wisor finished 2nd and 4th, respectively.  There were several Skins winners among the League participants:  Ana Stoll won 2 skins, and Sandy Pearlstone, Kendra Nowak, Jeanne Liston, Sandy Honerkamp, and Debbie Nack won 1 skin. 

 

In District news, at the final Team event at Sunset Hills Country Club, the teams of Kelly Osborne/Brenda Lammers, Angel Likens/Julie Baker, and Jean Bennett/Connie Cissell won Gross in their division, making Team Bogey a semifinalist.  The teams of Brenda Lammers/Julie Baker, Carla VanMeter/Jean Bennett, and Connie Cissell/Gail Walters played in the semifinals at The Legends Country Club.  Team Bogey came up just a little short in clinching a spot in the finals.  Congratulations to our Team players for participating and playing so well this season.     

 

Brenda Lammers and Judy Tindall played in the District Senior Tournament at Forest Hills Country Club. 

 

Bogey Hills is hosting the District Fall Classic on September 14th. 

 

Winghaven Country Club is hosting the 18-Hole Ladies Interclub on September 22nd.  The cost is $70 per player, which includes golf, cart, breakfast, and lunch.  This is a great opportunity for ladies with a GHIN handicap to play another District course.  Sign up in the Ladies Locker Room by September 14th as reservations must be submitted the following day.   

 

On October 3rd, the League will host a Full Golfing Members Invitational Scramble.  We invite our full golfing members who are not League members to join us for the day.
