                                                                The 2-day Ringer Tournament was held in August. Thanks to the Golf                                                                                Committee for their generous support by contributing prize money for this                                                                        event. The Overall Winner of the event was Kathy Regele. The following are                                                                      flight and closest to the pin winners: Championship Flight - 1st Julie Baker, 2nd Jean Bennett, Low Putts Carla VanMeter; A Flight - 1st Gail Walters, 2nd Sharon Linneman, Low Putts Judy Tindall; B Flight - 1st Janet Tracy, 2nd Dinah Weston, Low Putts Pat Senft Wessel; C Flight - 1st Linda Boone, 2nd Jeanne Liston, Low Putts Sandy Honerkamp; and Closest to the Pin - Julie Paule and Aryn Koepke.  

 

Many League members played in the Member-Member Memorial. Angel Likens and Aryn Koepke tied for first place in the Ladies Flight with Sharon Linneman and Dinah Weston. Likens/Koepke won in a scorecard playoff and advanced to a shootout with the winners of the three men’s flights - and shot their way to Overall Winners!  Congratulations Angel and Aryn! Bridget Kaprielian and Judy Tindall placed third.  

 

Several League members played in the Divorce Open. Championship Flight and Overall Winners were Aryn and Cody Koepke with a net 64. In A Flight, Jeanne and Keith Liston and Dana and Ron Snider placed first and second, respectively. Sandy and Alan Honerkamp placed first in the B Flight.

 

​League members Ana Stoll, Aryn Koepke, and Debbie Nack, as well as Cherie Finn and

Dana Snider played Interclub at Greenbriar Hills. Finn and Nack were on teams that

placed first in their flight.

A number of League members played in the Ryder Cup, a 3-day event that included

individual and team events. Connie Cissell, Pat Johnson, Jesse Kielty, Brenda Lammers,

Linda O’Donnell, Judy Tindall, and Dinah Weston were on the winning Blue/Brains

Team. Aryn Koepke, Angel Likens, Sharon Linneman, Debbie Nack, Patty Rothermich,

Ana Stoll, and Gail Walters were on the Red/Brats Team. 

 

The Legends Country Club is hosting the 18-Hole Ladies Interclub on September 12. The cost is $70 per player and includes breakfast, golf, cart, lunch, and prizes. The list of golfers must be submitted by noon on September 5th. Sign up in the Ladies Locker Room. This is a great opportunity for ladies with a GHIN handicap to play another District course.

 

On October 1st, the League will host an All Golfing Members Invitational Scramble. We invite our golfing members who are not League members to join us.       

 

The last Interclub play of the season is on Wednesday, October 2nd, at Bogey Hills. We encourage you to participate in this event. It is always nice to have a local member in the play group. 

 

Bobby Jones so aptly said, “Golf is the closest game to the game we call life.  You get bad breaks from good shots; you get good breaks from bad shots - but you have to play the ball where it lies.”
