Ladies 18 Hole League

Our season is underway!  The course has been challenging with all the rain we have received.  Two play days in May were cancelled due to weather.

Mark your calendars for the Ladies League Member Guest Tournament

and Luncheon on Tuesday, June 11.  The theme this year is

“Come on Barbie, Let’s go Golf”.  Registration and breakfast begin at

7 am, followed by an 8 am shotgun start. The luncheon and awards

will follow golf. The cost is $75 per person, payable to Bogey Hills

Ladies Member Guest and deliverable to Pat Senft Wessel. You can

also Venmo Patty Rothermich or Dinah Weston. See the flyer and

signup sheet in the Ladies Locker Room.

The Breast Cancer Awareness Golf Outing and Luncheon will be held on

.Tuesday, July 23.  See the flyer and sponsor form below for details

Sponsor forms are also available in the Pro Shop. For more information

contact Sharon Gietl at m.s.gietl@att.net or Jane Quast at meanmachine6546@gmail.com

The first day of Interclub will take place on Thursday, June 13 at

Whitmoor Country Club. Registration and a light breakfast begin at

7:30 am, followed by an 8:30 am shotgun start. Sign up on the bulletin

board in the Ladies Locker Room. If you have questions, contact

Sandy Honerkamp at grandmaho1@gmail.com. Interclub is a wonderful

opportunity to play other St. Louis Women’s District courses without

meeting any handicap requirement.

In District news, the teams of Brenda Lammers/Carla VanMeter,

Julie Baker/Jean Bennett, and Sharon Gietl/Lynette Zuch played a Team

event at Bellerive Country Club. The Bogey Team is off to a respectable

start. The Team event at Sunset Hills Country Club was cancelled due to

weather.

The District Tournament of a Lifetime, honoring longtime members, was held at Winghaven.  Unfortunately, bad weather prevented the completion of play. Participating were Jean Bennett, Sharon Gietl, Brenda Lammers, Ana Stoll, Judy Tindall, Gail Walters, and Lynette Zuch. Names were drawn for the prize money and won by Bennett, Stoll, and Walters.

The Golf Kick Off was held on April 28. Congratulations to League members Aryn Koepke, who was on the team that won 1st place and 2 skins, and Kendra Nowak and Ana Stoll, who were on a team that tied for 4th place. League members Debbie Nack and Julee Wisor were on teams that also won a skin.

The President and 1st Lady was held on May 19. We are proud that the following League members finished in the money: Connie Cissell/partner Ron Snider placed 2nd, Aryn Koepke/Todd Bullock tied for 3rd, Dana Snider/Alan Honerkamp tied for 5th, and Carla VanMeter and Debbie Nack tied for 10th with partner Joe Lammers and Floyd Thomas, respectively. Skins were won by the following League members: Debbie Nack/Floyd Thomas and Julee Wisor/Neil Whipple.

The Senior Club Championship registration is now open to golfing members ages 55 and older. This tournament will be held on June 8-9. We hope to see many League members participate in this event.

Golfer Annika Sorenstam said “I believe in positive thinking.  Believing in yourself.” Annika trained herself to laugh at the unexpected and potentially disappointing situations on the golf course. Train yourself to never see obstacles in your path, only opportunities.

Your League Officers,

Joyce, Jean, Kathy, Sandy, and Pat
