On October 14th, the League will host an All Golfing Members Invitational Scramble. We invite our golfing members who are not League members to join us!!
Many League members played in this year’s Member-Member Memorial. Congratulations to the following winners finishing in the money in the Ladies Division:
*1st Place - Julie Baker and Sarah Sharpe. Julie and Sarah advanced in an exciting shootout
but unfortunately did not win the overall event.
* 2nd Place - Christy Birdwell and Maria Palozola
* 3rd Place - Brenda Lammers and Debbie Nack
* 4th Place - Jean Bennett and Lynette Zuch
Several League members played in the Divorce Open. The Championship Flight Winners were Aryn and Cody Koepke with a net 64. Kendra and Brad Nowak, also in Championship Flight, placed third. In A Flight, Dana and Ron Snider and Tammy Westhues and Tommy Reilly placed tied for second and fourth, respectively.
A number of League members played in the Ryder Cup, a 3-day event that included individual and team events. Angel Likens, Debbie Nack, Gail Walters, Kendra Nowak and Linda O’Donnell were on the winning Red/Brats Team. Aryn Koepke, Connie Cissell, Sharon Linneman, Brenda Lammers, Debbie King and Judy Tindall were on the Blue/Brains Team.
Westborough Country Club hosted Ladies 18-Hole InterClub in August. League members Amy Palmatier,
Cherie Finn and Natalie Rolfing played along with Ruby Ha. Amy Palmatier won 1st place in her flight.
The teams of Brenda Lammers/Angel Likens, Sarah Sharpe/Jean Bennett, and Julie Baker/Lynette Zuch
played the final District Team event at Persimmon Woods. Team Bogey had 1 tie and won 2 matches in net and won all 3 matches in gross. For the very competitive season, we placed second in gross standings and were only 1 point away
from second in net standings. Thanks to Julie Baker for all the time and effort she put into leading our
team!
Bobby Jones so aptly said, “Golf is the closest game to the game we call life. You get bad breaks from
good shots; you get good breaks from bad shots - but you have to play the ball where it lies.”
